Birthday Boy!

I really think life goes on fast forward once you have kids! I cannot believe that Jay is three already!!!!

We recently taught Jay that his birthday was on April 3rd. He quickly put together that he was turning 3 on April 3rd and that he was Jay Steven Southwell the 3rd. Somedays I think he's too smart for his own good!

This year, Jay got two birthdays - one on his real birthday and one at the Orange and Blue game. His first birthday at home was a quiet affair (as quiet as our house can be) with just a few family members.

As always - we had our traditional birthday breakfast (and yes - that is sprinkles on his pancake).

Lily gave him two really cool water guns which he's had fun shooting the dog and the cat with. :0) And what party is complete without a birthday cake? Per Jay's request, we had yellow cake with lots of sprinkles!!

I think Jay was most excited that he got two cakes out of the whole double birthday party (but when you see below - this is a sad cake compared to what he got at his Gator birthday party)!

Oh and he liked getting presents twice!

Since we've been talking about time a lot lately, Mommy & Daddy got Jay a watch. And Grammy scored big with Jay's very own 'pack-pack':

The next weekend, we celebrated again with more friends and family at a 'Gator' birthday party during the Orange & Blue game.

Look at this gator cake! Aunt Robin is super talented!!

Jay had some special friends come and visit! Cole and baby Will joined in the festivities!

More presents!! A grill from Nanny & Granddaddy!!

And ... Why is it so hard to get two kids to look straight ahead?!?!? Maybe one day we'll get a good family picture!

We had a great time visiting with family and friends and going to the game. It was a good reminder that I don't want to be in 'The Swamp' early in the season because it's as hot and muggy as a real swamp!!

I'm now glad that the birthday festivities are over for the year!

The kids got a special birthday gift from daddy after their parties ...

More to come on the adventures of summer ...
